Scholarship for Service (SFS)
The SFS program is sanctioned and funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Students that are awarded a scholarship under this program have the same general requirements and benefits as offered by the Department of Defense's IASP award. Students that graduate under this aid comply with the normal hiring process (competitive consideration) for OPM employment.
Information Assurance Scholarship Program (IASP)
The IASP program is similar to the SFS program but funded by the Department of Defense. The benefits and requirements are primarily the same, except the student is automatically placed with an agency upon being awarded the scholarship.
